A unique opportunity for emerging producer Madison Falle

Women in Film & Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) is pleased to announce Madison Falle as the recipient of the 2017 CBC Business of Broadcasting Mentorship.

Madison Falle is the Development Coordinator at Gearshift Films, where she develops and pitches scripted content in collaboration with other Canadian producers, writers, and showrunners. Before taking this role, Madison worked in Business Affairs on television shows such as Hockey Wives, NHL Revealed, and Workin’ Moms. Madison is passionate about creating female-empowered content for television. She has successfully developed and produced her own 5-episode series with Bell TV1 called Start Up Swap. Previously, she assisted in production on Orphan Black, and interned in 2013 at Women in Film & Television (WIFT-T), and at Universal Pictures Canada. Madison is an alumna of the Ryerson University School of Image Arts, and is a two-time winner of the Norman Jewison Award for a student demonstrating the strongest ability as a producer.

"CBC is pleased to welcome Madison as this year’s Business of Broadcasting Mentorship recipient. Madison’s well-rounded experience and industry knowledge ensure that she will have a rich and exciting week at the CBC. We look forward to opening our doors to her in the new year and know she will benefit greatly from the experience."

~Michelle Daly, Senior Director, Comedy, CBC

The CBC Business of Broadcasting Mentorship is an immersive five-day experience that provides insights into production, branding, acquisition, strategy, research and scheduling, from a broadcaster perspective. Through comprehensive one-on-one sessions with expert staff, Madison will learn how CBC operates behind-the-scenes, what motivates decisions behind programming, and understand how various departments interconnect by using a CBC show as a case study.

“I look forward to having the unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders at the CBC while observing the broadcaster’s day-to-day operations. It’s important to have such initiatives for female professionals in the media industry and gaining this insider’s perspective will undoubtedly enhance the quality of my work in the future.”
