"I am still in awe at the sheer expanse and variety provided by the mentorship. I was given an all access pass to every facet one could dream of interacting with, in a single week. The sheer scope of my schedule far surpassed any expectations I had. I was afforded the privilege of meeting with everyone; from the scheduling team, to publicity, research, legal, add sales, ancillary products and an array of executives in the scripted, unscripted and branded silos. Each person I met with gave me not only their time, but their passion for their job, which was infectious.  Who knew that research could be so fascinating for a math-inept development executive? I walked away from each meeting with not only pivotal information, but relationships and mentors that I now feel comfortable calling on for advice or direction."

Emma Fleury (actor, writer, producer; Odd Squad, The Rest of Us), 2018 recipient

"The Mentorship was a unique opportunity that would be hard to replicate under any other circumstances. I was able to meet with people from all areas of the company and each meeting gave a new insight into how the CBC operates. Coming from a development background, it was especially interesting speaking with the production executives to get an understanding of how they select and evaluate content. The CBC has a responsibility to Canadians that is prioritized over their bottom line and it was eye-opening to see how that mandate trickles down to every person's day-to-day job. Thank you!"

Madison Falle (actor, producer; Gay Mean Girls), 2017 recipient

"The WIFT-T CBC Business of Broadcasting Mentorship is a rare opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and learn from leading experts in the industry about the changing landscape of programming for national broadcast. The knowledge, direction and genuine support I received from the CBC was exceptional and established my career as a producer, director and creator of content in Canada."
