WIFT-T Executive Director, Heather Webb, announces resignation

As the driving force of WIFT-T for the past 8 years, both WIFT-T and the Foundation for WIFT-T have flourished under Heather's leadership.

The Board of Directors of Women in Film & Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) announces that Executive Director, Heather Webb, will leave the organization at the end of December to relocate to Australia with her family.

As Executive Director of both WIFT-T and the Foundation for WIFT-T since March 2011, Heather has guided the growth of both organizations resulting in a 62% growth in membership and a 70% increase in individual charitable donations over the past five years.

“Heather has been the driving force of WIFT-T for the past 8 years and under her leadership, the organization has flourished. We are so grateful for all that she has done to bring progress and enhancements to this incredibly dynamic and important non-profit organization.”

—Jocelyn Hamilton, WIFT-T Board Chair

Passionate about providing women with the tools they need to succeed, Heather was the driving force behind the development of the Corus Media Management Accelerator—a certificate program in partnership with The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, Ryerson University—as well as WIFT Connect; a six-month mentorship program for WIFT-T members that fostered 40 mentorships in its inaugural year in 2017 and will support an additional 53 mentorships over the next six months.

“It has been a privilege to be part of WIFT-T’s dynamic community and to witness first-hand the positive impact that WIFT-T has had in the career development of so many women in this industry. At a time when gender parity and greater inclusion is finally being prioritized, it is hard to leave WIFT-T. However, it will be an exciting time for the next executive director and I know that, together with the Board of Directors and WIFT-T team, even greater things will be achieved in the coming years benefiting our Members.”
