WIFT-T and Technicolor announce new VFX mentorship for 2019

Technicolor Creative Director, Kevin Chandoo, made the announcement on stage at the 31st annual Crystal Awards gala in Toronto on December 4th.

The Technicolor VFX Mentorship is a unique immersive experience for an emerging VFX professional. The inaugural recipient will spend three weeks at Technicolor expanding their knowledge of the VFX production cycle, the role of the VFX Supervisor, and best practices for planning and budgeting; and get hands on experience with the latest software and processes. They will also shadow and participate in one-on-one meetings with key Technicolor team members.

“We are so excited to be a part of this opportunity. We want this to be an empowering and inspiring experience for the mentee, expanding their knowledge of visual effects while fostering their existing talents.”

At WIFT-T, our goal is to highlight the diverse possibilities existing in the industry and provide the tools needed for women to emerge and thrive as vocal, innovative, and visionary leaders in Canadian media.”

The inaugural Technicolor VFX Mentorship will take place in 2019. The mentee will also receive a cash honorarium of $1,000 and on-stage recognition at the 2019 WIFT-T Crystal Awards Gala in December. More details on this opportunity will be shared in 2019.
